Pensher Skytech ballistic screens are non-opening, fixed light windows. They have been developed and tested by our specialist security engineers to resist the effects of projectiles, including bullets. Ballistic protection in buildings and structures is essential in protecting life, property and infrastructure against the potential threat of an armed attack. Pensher Skytech’s ballistic screens have been developed to a very high standard, making them suitable for high-risk areas where there could be an open fire-arm attack such as military sites, banks and transport hubs.
The ballistic screen is developed to meet the European Standard EN1522 and EN1063 for glazing, providing the highest level of protection against weapons.
The ballistic screen system is designed to the highest specification of the standard, which is FB7/BR7 7.62 x 51 P80 AP rounds. Pensher Skytech also meet other comparable standards such as NIJ (0108.01) and UL752. STANAG levels can be achieved on specific projects.
Ballistic glass is designed to absorb the energy of a bullet to prevent it from breaking through the glass. This specialist glazing is manufactured from high-specification interlayers, which can be made to different levels of strength and thickness depending on the threat requirement.
The ballistic screen has an option for spall glass for added safety, as the speed of the projectile often creates a break and fragments, which can be dangerous for anyone near the glass.
Ballistic screens can be a discreet option for protection against bullets and weapons. Environments that could benefit from ballistic screens are:
