CURTAIN WALL
Pensher Skytech’s blast resistant curtain wall provides a solution to any environment that may potentially be threatened by intentional blast attacks such as terrorist attacks, or accidental explosives, such as petrochemical or other chemical explosions on industrial sites. Our blast curtain wall has unrivalled performance in terms of strength, security, fire resistance, and acoustic performance.
PERFORMANCE
Pensher Skytech’s blast curtain wall system has passed a ASTM F1223-08 Forced Entry Test. This level of forced entry is suitable for very high risk facilities, such as detention and correctional facilities and installations where security requirements are not regulated, which are appropriate to Threat Class 4 to A2.2.1.6.
The blast curtain wall is certified to several international blast standards including ISO 16933. ACSE. GSA. UFC 3-340-02. DMG-02. CPNI.
MANUFACTURING
Our blast curtain wall is predominantly manufactured from either 60 or 80mm wide steel members internally with external special pressure plate and capping, which is able to incorporate steel inserts for ballistic, fire and forced entry upgrades.
The size and quantity of fixings are critical to the blast design. Calculations are used to verify its performance by measuring the pressure wave delivered to the curtain wall.
GLAZING
People prefer to work in environments where there is plenty of natural light. Curtain walling is a modern architectural solution for flooding buildings with daylight.
Pensher Skytech has developed a curtain wall that can protect buildings from the effects of large-scale explosions, whilst giving the same light transmission, and thermal performance as commercial systems.
The combination of the Pensher Skytech steel system with special laminated glass means that glazed blast facades can be produced with contemporary aesthetics.

- Can uphold performance from blasts at close quarters and larger attacks. It can provide resistance at various standoffs in petrochemical sites.
- Tested to ASTM f1233-08 forced entry with a special glass configuration.
- Ballistic rated if needed to EN1063 and EN1522 FB7/BR7.
- Unique system manufactured predominantly from steel members internally, with special pressure plate and capping externally. 60mm and 80mm sight lines available.
- Blast certified to several international blast standards including ISO 16933. ACSE. GSA. UFC 3-340-02. DMG-02. CPNI.
- Live blast testing in an arena test with 250kg on TNT equivalent at 15m standoff.
- Fire resistance to two hours integrity and insulation – EN 1634 EI 120.
- Available in various RAL and BS polyester powder coating colour ranges.
