Pensher Skytech’s fire screens are fire rated to 2 hours Integrity and Insulation, providing staff and residents more than enough time to leave the building, and ensuring minimal damage to assets. The fire-resistant screens and curtain walling are similar to the Pensher Skytech fire windows, but typically cover larger spans. The system provides both fire integrity and fire insulation protection, as well as integrity only where required.
.
Like doors and windows, fire screens and curtain walling are classified according to their integrity (E), radiation (W), and insulation (I) characteristics, combined with the period of protection in minutes.
Integrity means that the product provides a stable physical barrier against flame, smoke, and hot gases. It does, however, allow the heat through the screen. Insulation means that as well as providing stability and integrity, the screen will also be a barrier to heat. The standard dictates that the temperature of the screen on the non-fire side should not exceed 140°C.
Pensher Skytech fire screens are produced from bespoke steel profiles which incorporate special infill materials to resist warping by keeping the metal relatively cool.
We can provide screens in both carbon steel and stainless steel, to a variety of configurations including arched and faceted screens. We can also combine other performance characteristics such as weather performance, blast, acoustics, and ballistics.
Pensher Skytech fire screens have been used on many special projects in industrial environments. We have installed several fire screens on Energy from Waste plants where it important to provide acoustic performance as well as a gas-tight seal.
On petrochemical sites there is often a threat from both fires and explosions, so we provide multi performance screens. In certain laboratories the threat is often from fire and projectiles, so a range of possibilities can be achieved, through specialist design and innovation.
APPLICATIONS
Fire resistant screens and curtain walling is essential for any environment where there could be a potential risk of fire exposure, or any area of value. People requiring fire resistant screens and curtain walling typically include:
