Pensher Skytech’s innovative anti-ligature healthcare window, Skytech Lite, has been featured in IHEEM’s Health Estate Journal.

IHEEM (The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management) is a professional development organisation. Its aim is to keep members up to date with developing technology and changing regulations. Health Estate Journal is a quarterly magazine that showcases new and innovative products, case studies, and healthcare news.

The Skytech Lite anti-ligature window was featured in the magazine as an introduction to the latest window development to the healthcare industry. The article focuses on Skytech Lite’s unique design. The window has a frameless vent and slimmer profiles, providing the maximum amount of natural light. This has been a key talking point in the NHS lately, as natural light has been proven to increase patient’s recovery rate and improve their mood. Therefore any architectural and design work that it being done in hospitals and mental health facilities needs to consider natural light and ensure there is plenty of it. Projects that take this into consideration are being recognised and hailed.

Pensher Skytech’s Commerical Manager, John Richardson, says: ‘We’re so glad to see that the Skytech Lite anti-ligature window has been getting some recognition. A lot of work went into designing an innovative window that addressed current needs. The healthcare industry is not one we’ve worked in before, so we’re glad that we can use our glazing expertise to make a difference. We hope to continue working within the industry and developing our windows to ensure patients get the best protection that they can.’

The Skytech Lite is a designed for in-patient mental health services, low, medium and high-security services, CAMHS units, complex care and dementia wards, and young offenders institutes.
