INFORMATION
The Skytech Blue anti-ligature window has been designed and developed to be the pinnacle of safety, security and protection in the healthcare sector. It offers vulnerable residents of mental health hospitals, secure units, or complex care facilities protection against the ability to self-harm from ligature points, prevents the passage of contraband as well as the possibility of escape.
VENTILATION
Our external horizontal sliding sash is supplied with stainless steel mesh with an anti-ligature hole pattern which allows the maximum amount of natural ventilation through without compromising patient safety.
By allowing natural air into the room, patients are made to feel as relaxed, at ease, and connected to the outside world as possible, which encourages their rehabilitation.
LOCKING SYSTEM
The window unit is operated via an internal anti-ligature dial handle, and has a unique locking mechanism which offers the resident and staff complete freedom of locking the sliding sash in any desired position.
By removing the limitations of the conventional locking systems the residents are offered more control over their environment in a safe manner. Such positive reinforcements are designed to provide a more homely environment and have been found to encourage mental rehabilitation.
SECURITY
Constructed from robust thermally enhanced mild steel profiles with stainless steel anti-ligature mesh specially secured in position, the window has endured rigorous testing to resist high security testing methods. This ensures that no user can break in or out of the room either by themselves or with weapons.
CLEANING
A recurring issue is the difficulty of cleaning anti-ligature windows. This is especially important in healthcare environments, as an unclean window has the potential to carry and spread bacteria.
We have found a solution that is easy for staff to operate that does not compromise on the integrity of the design. The glazing beads already present in the window can be removed to access the encapsulated glass for easy cleaning.
This allows staff to clean the glass themselves at a time that is convenient for them, rather than seeking a professional company to clean it at an additional cost.
